Just over a year ago I was employed as a machine operator by a textile company in Lancs, the company is based in a three storey stone built mill, and my machine wason the third floor.

One afternoon the machine was stopped for some general maintanance work, my task was the machines turbine, housed in an ajoining room. The room had no door just an archway for access

As I turned a corner towards the archway I noticed a figure stood there, and was watching me intently, I was ten feet away from this person, he had shoulder length, curly blonde hair, wore a light brown bib+brace, and a dirty white grand dad shirt. But it was the intense, eerie look in his eyes that I noticed the most.

After approx. five seconds he turned and ran back into the turbine room, I followed thinking intruder but the person had vanished.

I told my plant manager about my little meeting, and with the expected cynical smile he went down stairs, only to return a short time later with an almost laughable shock on his face, he'd been down to the offices to relay my little story obviously to get a laugh on my behalf, but a lady who had worked for the company for thirty five years described the person I had seen in every detail (before my manager had chance to), relayed to her by a man who had worked there several years previously.

The thing is I wasn't at all scared by my experience, later on I think my main feeling was sorrow, because that person was aware of my presence and if this is so why run away? how long has he been confined in that souless building? The answer to these questions would probably explain that intense look in his eyes, he's probably gone completely insane.

Hi, my partner and I are hill walkers; on a particular day at Tyndrum, Scotland we were in the process of returning from climbing Ben Lui. At the base we started to take our waterproof clothing off as the weather had improved, when five young men appeared from our left. They were dressed in what certainly was second world war flying gear and looked American in dress. One was of a different dress I thought he resembled an old type motorcyclist in dress. They never spoke, were solid in form and all walked past, strangely they still never spoke when I mentioned to them the weather being terrible.

Two years later I got into a conversation with a girl in a hill walking shop in Stirling, Scotland and we spoke of Tyndrum and she said she worked there in the restaurant a few years ago. I went on to tell her the story I have related here. She told me an American Lockheed plane had crashed on Ben Lui years before. On returning home I searched the computer for the incident and all was as she had said. The young crew members were American and numbered five; the site gave details of the pilot etc and all matched what we had seen.

May I add that the area they came from, as we had come, was deserted, no houses, no tents, caravans, anything, so there was no reason for anyone to be there except hill walkers and they positively were NOT hill walkers.

I accept you post this story and use my name.

It is winter December 1955.. I have just left the Wendover Railyway Station at 12.30 am and I'm walking along the road that leads back to the Royal Air Force camp at which I'm currently stationed. It's cold and very black, no moon, or any stars. I can hardly find my way along the road but my eyes are becoming accustomed to what little light there is and I can see faint outlines of hedge groves. I haven't got a pass and so I have to dodge the guardroom. The only other way back to camp is to turn off the road and make my way through a spinney. I know that the visibility will worsen once I enter the wood, and I struggle to make out the vicinity of a pathway as I leave the road!

Then, in front of me is the track that leads through the wood. As I look ahead I can just about make out the path as it enters the wood and then disappears into complete blackness - The track goes down hill until it reaches halfway then rises back up again, the total length is about 100 yards.

I enter the wood and the darkness closes in! I think "This is ridiculous, I'll have to turn back! But what's that?" At the other end of the track is a light that conveniently allows me to see my way: could it be the police from the guardroom!

By now though I'm past caring. Over the next few minutes I trudge my way down and then up the other side. The light is now directly in front of me, it is about the size of a football and hovering at chest level about two feet away. In fact I'm tempted to reach out and touch it, instead I just stand there continue to watch and wait. After a few minutes, which seemed like hours, it suddenly moves off zig-zagging through the trees at a tremendous speed, before disappearing out of sight. Whatever was it ? It enabled me to navigate my way through the wood.

1996 - I was busy at work on a new book and for some reason began to think about my aunt who was in many ways, my 'kindred spirit'. In my head we had a brief conversation which I ended by saying her I'd phone her as soon as I'd finished the current chapter. Half an hour later, my Dad phoned to say she'd been found dead in her home.

2003 - Two years ago, my dear Dad was in hospital after a major stroke. I was going to visit him the next day, but at 4am in the morning I woke up having had a vivid 'dream' conversation with him, beginning with him answering the phone in his distinctive way. My husband next to me asked what was the matter and I told him. Half an hour later, the hospital phoned to say he'd just died. I have seen him very clearly sitting on the side of our bed.

2004 - My husband had gone to work early and I was snatching a quick lie-in when suddenly I felt a huge weight smothering me. I felt as if the energy/life was being sucked out of me and I saw the light overhead become a black hole towards which my life fore was being sucked. I screamed and screamed and to this day, can never lie with my back to the bedroom door or have that door ajar while in bed.

1990 - While staying in a B&B in Monmouth, I awoke to a freezing bedroom and the sensation of a white sheet being swirled around my body. I tried to wake my husband to no avail, but at breakfast later, the landlady did admit that her husband had recently died in that room.

When my wife was a teenager she was awakened in the small hours of the morning by the presence of her uncle and she wondered what her uncle was doing in her bedroom, particularly as he did not live in the house. He left the room and she went to the window and saw him outside near the front door. She particularly noticed his scarf. Later in the morning her mother came in and said her uncle had died in the small hours of the morning. She told her mother about the scarf which was an unusual one and her mother said he had one like that before the war.

I was driving home last night and noticed a strange glowing object in the sky. It was about 8.30-8.45pm, and I had just got to Lea Bridge Road near the Baker's Arms when we noticed it. It was in the sky hovering over the Wood Street area. It looks like a glowing fireball with an orange-yellow glowing tail, but it wasn't a comet as it stayed in the same place all the time while I watched it. The object was an oval shape, and the tail was 3-4 times its length.

My "Groundhog Dream". This is an experience I had several years ago. I hadn't talked about much as I am still trying to figure out what had happened and why it happened, even what it means.

I wake up at 7.00 o'clock to my radio, go through my morning ritual, loo, wash face with cold water, cup of tea, wander around the flat, listen to music, watch a little TV as it always wakes me up. Shower, get dressed then go to my door and as I open it, I wake up.

The radio plays , the clock says 7.00. Strangely the songs are the same as in the dream. I ignored it, putting it down to deja vu. I went on with my morning procedure. It wasn't until I sat down to watch a little TV news that I realised I had been doing exactly the same things in the same order as in the dream. It struck me as a little weird because, although I do the same things when I wake up I never do them in the same order. Sometimes I'd put on the kettle then have a shave, sometimes a bath, sometimes watch something on TV then tea, then wash. I always change the combination. To continue, I went through the rest of the morning chores and, exactly as in the dream, finally going to my door and opening it.

AGAIN, I wake up. Same time, same music on the radio, getting up during the same song, going through the exact same procedure. I mentally tried to change the routine but, as I did something, I realised it was exactly what I had done the previous two times. As time went on, I began to realise I was going to do one thing but at the last minute changing my mind and doing something else believing I was breaking the pattern only to find I wasn't and if I hadn't changed my mind the pattern would have been broken.

Time passed and I went to my door and woke up, same thing all over again. The strange thing was, I was now mentally aware of the situation but, no matter what I tried, I was physically incapable of doing anything other than the routine I had been doing the previous times. This time I just carried on doing things without trying to change them. Again, after doing each action I had realised it was exactly the thing I had done previously. It appeared that my memory of each action had been blocked until I'd done it again, then remembering I had done it before.

By this time I was getting a little worried. I walked to the door, opened it, then woke up again.

I was very freaked as the same situation was repeating itself yet again. I was aware I was repeating everything, I knew the next move I was about to make would be an action I had already made the last time and the times before that. But I still couldn't remember what it was until I'd actually, physically done it.

It was the most terrifying feeling. The feeling of not being in control. I felt like someone or something was in total control of my will, my being, my life, my soul. I had totally lost myself, becoming disorientated about my existence, not knowing whether I was dreaming or awake.

It was at this time I had resigned to it and just went along with everything. I figured, hoped, I would wake up eventually. I thought, "let it happen" & clock, radio, songs, rise from bed, wash, make tea. I then decide to put my hand on the hot kettle, convinced it was what I had done before. It really hurt, but I then realised things were different, I didn't get the feeling I'd done it before. There was no recollection whatsoever. I carried on with the rest of the morning, everything WAS different. I didn't get any more recollections and on with the day.

Next day, I woke up at the same time and with a sudden rush of memory of what I had experienced or dreamed. I'm still not sure.

We were at the UCI cinema recently, watching "The Grudge". After the film had finished, we left the cinema and got back into the car. I put the car radio on, and we drove off. Suddenly, the radio went strange and we thought that maybe the news and travel updates were coming on. But instead, the radio changed by itself to a station that we had never heard off, which displayed its name as "BLESS U 2" then went off. Neither of us could find it again, and we couldn't find anything about it listed on the net either.

Currently I am working in a pub in North Chingford. The building has a lot of history and a history of burning down (which i think it has done now twice). The last time it burnt down a few people were killed, one being a lady - she is the ghost we think we have here. I think she haunts the basement and the 2nd level.

Well I was down in the basement bottling up at night (all of us don't really like being in there on our own) and I had called a friend from the upstairs to keep me company. Anyway she came down and we were talking about the ghost (we know her as "Mary") and in the middle of the bottling up room there is a line of bottles. Just as she was talking about Mary a bottle flew out of its packing and landed on the floor with a bang, giving us the fright of our lives. Another time I was down there on my own changing the coke over and I could feel some one intensely watching me from behind, I couldn't stop looking over my shoulder and feeling scared. A lot of people feel they are being followed around the basement and up the stairs.

My gran parents live in Wivenhoe near Colchester. When i was a little girl about 9 or 10 my nan used to take a short cut home around the back of the university (the road is now closed). One afternoon she took the short cut and I was sitting in the back and looking out of the window and I saw a man in old fashioned clothes (dark brown trousers and a light brown shirt with his sleeves rolled up and he had dark brown hair). The strange thing was he was riding a penny farthing. I saw him for a few minutes and he looked as solid as anything. I asked my nan if people rode the old bikes around the university and she had not a clue what i was talking about.

My story comes from a medium circle I attended on Feb 5th 2005.

I was sitting in the audience of the above when just as the event was going to end the medium came up to me and asked if my father had passed over. Yes, I replied he had. She then told me he lived in Woodford, Essex (which he did.) that he had died in pain of cancer (which he did) and that he had had a nurse called "Linda (Name removed)". Well my father had died some four and half years ago and I could not remember his nurses name. So I said I would check with my mother later. The Medium then went on to give me a personal message from my father. The next day I rang my mother and asked her if she could remember who my father's nurse had been, but she couldn't.

So as I felt it was important, I made the journey back to the hospice where my father had died. This was very painful for me for it brought back many strong memories of the last few days of my father's life. I went in and found a nurse. I asked her if she was busy as I didn't want to disturb her, but I had a question I had to ask. She said it was ok and showed me into a little room. Taking a deep breath I told her why I was there. "Don't worry" she said "I am a Christian spiritualist myself and nothing you will say will shock me". Feeling better that I had an understanding listener I went on and told her about my father. Then I asked " So is there a cancer nurse here (or would have worked here four years ago) called "Linda (Name removed) ?"

"Yes!!!!" came back the reply.

You could have floored me. I got very choked up as I felt my father had really been with me that night. He truly had come back to visit me.

When I was younger, my; mother, father, sister and I went on holiday to a house in the country. The house had a priests hole' in it , a type of well that runs horizontally right through the house. My sister couldn't sleep all the time we were there, she was scared and crying all the time (she was 3 years old then). She was very afraid of the priests hole. While we were there doors kept opening by themselves without a draft. One door would open, then when it was closed another would open, and so on. My sister was so agitated that we could only stay one night and in the end we left the building.

This happened at my mothers when I was younger. My mother and her sister were attempting to contact spirit via a Ouija board in order to have some questions answered. They placed a glass on the table around which they were sitting, touched it with their fingers, and asked their questions. The glass did not move, but what they described as a 'ball of orange fire' appeared and went up and down the curtains in the room that they were sitting in. As they watched it, it continued to move up and down the length of the curtains. Because they got so frightened they ran out and told their mother (my nan) what they had done. The ball of orange fire continued to disappear and re-appear over days, and eventually my Nan got a priest to come to the house to exorcise it, after which they never again saw the ball.

During the late 1960s, I was in the WRAF stationed at Halton in Buckinghamshire. The base was a huge camp split into 2 sections, one part being the main camp and the other the hospital, thick woods ran parallel to both sides. We lived in 3 storey housing blocks, I lived on the second floor of one. The rooms were long and narrow, and in mine my bed was placed against the wall. One afternoon I was trying to sleep, I was laying facing the wall when I heard the door open. Footsteps came towards me and I sensed that someone was leaning over me to see if I was awake. I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone and so I lay quietly waiting for them to leave. At the last moment I changed my mind, turned and look around, and there was no-one there.

At the above-mentioned WRAF, I worked with my friend Jill. On her route back from the hospital area to 'home', there was a narrow path which led to the main camp and her block. For weeks there had been rumours floating around that a strange dark creature have been seen many times in that area. One evening, Jill was coming back from the hospital. She was halfway along the path and suddenly thought that she had heard something. This happened several times during the next few minutes as she made her way to the top of the path. Finally, she looked around at the time of the last sound, only to see a tall dark mass of a creature following her. She took to her heels and never looked back again. It was a few minutes later when I came across Jill, ashen and shaken. From her expression and state, I knew that she was telling the truth when she explained what had happened.

I would like to relate an experience I had a number of years ago. I was having a dream in which I dreamt that I had gone back in time to visit my family during WWII. I was standing outside the house of my grandfather who had died when I was aged six. At this point the dream became lucid and I was totally aware of where I was both physically and spiritually. It was a wonderful experience and a great deal of total unconditional love flowed between the both of us. I then became aware that my body was starting to awaken. I stood up and said I have to go now at which point I started to be drawn backwards as though on a floating platform as everything started to recede. Suddenly someone called my name from the left of me. I turned and saw a girl sitting on a chair looking towards the floor. I seemed to know her but did not at the same time. As I looked at her she raised her head and looked me straight in the eye and said remember at which point I awoke. I was very excited about the dream but was somewhat puzzled about whom the mysterious girl was and what she meant by remember.

Time passed and I forgot all about the dream. Living in Edinburgh I was walking towards the city centre one day about three months after the whole experience when I decided to walk down a street, which I had not been down for almost a year. There I saw a shop, which I had not seen before and decided to have a look. I walked in and there was a girl behind the counter. My stomach churned over but I quickly dismissed it and asked her for some help. I left the shop and immediately had a voice inside my head telling me to go back to the shop (no, I am not schizophrenic). I ignored this until the next day when the voice became very insistent. I went back that afternoon and the same girl was behind the counter. I became flustered and bought something cheap just with the intention of giving me reason to leave.

I heard that she had an Australian accent and, having travelled extensively there asked her if she was Australian. She said yes so I asked her whereabouts. Perth was her response and I said that I knew Perth really well and that in fact my sister lived there. She asked where and I said Mosman Park. She said that she worked there as a teacher. Which school? I asked. Iona she said. I told her that my niece and nephew went there. Anyway, it turned out that she knew my sister and had taught her children. Out of a population of twenty million it seemed a bizarre coincidence. But she then said We've met! It turned out that we had met about four years previously when my six year old niece insisted that I come into the school to meet her teacher who was the woman I was now talking to in an Edinburgh shop years later. We became friends and I later saw her sitting on a chair in a room and realised it was the girl in my dream telling me to remember. A very bizarre experience!

This happened to me almost twenty years ago. It started when one night I was having a very bad dream about being chased by an evil spirit. Very suddenly I had an out of body experience and found myself standing at the end of the street. I realised that this spirit was coming through and I started to run I found myself back in my bedroom and remembered jumping into bed. I then became very groggy but had the sensation that this spirit came into the room and then laid on top of me. I had the sensation of sinking into the bed and feeling as though there was a heavy man lying on top of me. This lasted for about four or five minutes before coming fully awake. When the sensation ceased. I put it down to a very weird dream but nothing more and forgot all about it. I then moved to the east side of Scotland. About three months after the first experience I was lying in bed asleep when I became groggy and had the sensation that this same spirit had entered the bedroom. It then lay on top of me again and I felt that I was being assaulted. Again, it lasted for about four to five minutes.

When I came fully awake I once again thought no more about it although I did feel physically bruised and battered that day and for a few days after, but passed it off as a dream. About three months passed again and I was sleeping and having a dream when I was suddenly woken out of it. I felt that someone by the side of the bed had grabbed my arm. I became frozen with utter terror. This spirit then climbed up onto the bed and then lay on top of me. I was fully awake this time and was positive that this was really happening. I tried to call out but was paralysed so I started to breath heavily when I felt a hand go over my mouth. All this time there was putrid smell. Really disgusting but I saw nothing. This event upset me greatly and I was absolutely sure that this was no dream or hallucination. Again about three months passed when it happened again. This time it was lying on top of me and then started talking to me, whispering in my ear. It kept saying over and over let me in (Name removed). I then felt a most amazing sensation that I have since discovered is called a kundalini experience. The spirit was literally blasted away and this has never happened again. This took me a long time to get over and even twenty years on I am still sure that I did not hallucinate or dream it.

It all started in the distant past when we purchased our first house. The house had been empty for a few months and had been occupied by a nice elderly lady who had been there for years and had died leaving her relatives living next door. We settled in OK but certain people, my mother included, said that it was a cold house. After fitting the house out and redecorating we started to notice that the wall lights in the lounge, which were all independently switched but controlled by a master switch, would be switched on at the master switch and one (not always the same) would not come on. This was peculiar as we never touched the individual light switches which were quite difficult to get to. This occurred quite frequently and despite much electrical testing was never cured. We sold the house after a number of years and the next owner stayed exactly a year complaining that she had seen ghosts at the end on the bed on a number of occasions. For us it was a friendly ghost and never gave us any real problems.

After my mother-in-law died, we took home the clock that stood on her mantelpiece. This is when strange and unexplainable things started to happen at home. The TV would change channel if you left the room, the kettle would boil even though nobody had switched it on. But by far the best trick would be for things you were using to disappear. You never saw them go but could be sure if you put down a tool or cleaning product you were using, it wouldn't be there when you went to pick it up again. Where would it go? Back to the cupboard or tool box where it came from. This carried on for about four years until one day my daughters glasses began to go missing, they could turn up anywhere from the fridge to a shoe box under the bed. One day I had to send her to school without them , I lost my temper and once alone in the house I began to shout to whatever was causing the problems, saying how stupid and cruel it was to take a little girls glasses. Suddenly all the electricity in the house went off! Pure coincidence? I'll never know, but I took the clock down from its place on my mantelpiece, put it in the car and took it to work where I hid it in my locker. Never again did any strange things happen at home, but at work well that's another story.

My sister and her boyfriend were driving home late one night through Epping Forest . At one point she told her boyfriend to be more careful with his driving and said 'Look you'll knock someone over'. Then, as she looked back at the road she yelled 'Watch out!' as running from the side of the road straight across their path, they saw a figure which looked like a highwayman. They both reacted with surprise, and then just as quickly when they looked again he vanished. They said that the figure wore a black hat and cloak and looked just like a highwayman, they saw the clothing and face and everything. When she got home she was really frightened, and called me. When she told me what had happened, I explained to her that a lot of people in the area see the ghost of a highwayman on that road, and this is what she must have seen.

I was riding my motorcycle with my wife on the pillion, we were at High Beech (Epping, Essex) near the pub called the Royal Oak and we were trying to make our way to another pub called the Duke of Wellington. This was at night-time and I wasn't yet used to having someone ride pillion with me as I had just recently passed my test. I was riding quite slowly looking for the turning to the pub, when. I came across the turning more suddenly than I had expected. I slammed the brake on and tried to turn the handlebars, unfortunately because of the pillion on the back the counterweight of the bike went away from me, I lost control and we started to go over.

Not wanting to smash the bike up, I decided to lay it down as that would cause less damage. Fortunately both myself and the pillion rolled away from the bike gently and it wasn't a problem at all. Until... I came to pick the bike back up. I tried to pick the bike up but because of the slope of the hill it kept sliding away from me and I could see that I was doing more and more damage to the fairing and exhaust system every time I tried to lift it. This was at night, about 7-8 in the evening, pitch black, with no lights from streetlamps. It's very deserted up there and there was no-one around who could help, my wife tried but even with two of us we couldn't lift it back up.

All of a sudden standing next to me was a six foot tall man dressed in denim, he had the obvious look of a former motorcyclist. He bent down and all by himself he picked the bike up and set it upright. He never said a word all the time he was doing this. I was very grateful that someone had to come to my rescue and wasn't paying too much attention. I jumped back on the bike, as did my wife, we turned around to say "Thank You" to him, and he wasn't there. Neither my wife or myself know to this day where he came from, nor where he went to.

It was my girlfriend's birthday and we were having a small party. I'd been working very hard all day organising things for it and suddenly found myself very physically tired. I decided to take a small nap before guests arrived and went to put my head down for half an hour. I was aware of drifting off to sleep and then suddenly found myself feeling like I was rising out of my body. The feeling continued until I felt myself hovering over the bed, and then over the roof. I was looking down on the tops of the houses and could see them in detail. Then I felt myself being drawn to over a local forest area, I was looking down on the treetops and could see people and cars clearly. I noticed an area of roadworks that had men working on them about 3 miles from my house. I spent some time like this and then felt myself suddenly back in my bedroom and then my body. I woke completely up, and told my girlfriend about it. The next day we drove up to that area and found that there was a set of roadworks being done there. I am sure that it wasn't just a dream as I saw details like the roadworks that I didn't know were there, having not been to that area for quite a long time before it happened.

This happened in the mid 1970s. I used to live in a place called Spital Tounges in Newcastle upon Tyne. My house looked out onto the Leazes moor. At the top of the moor was the University student's halls of residence, I happened to be looking out of my bedroom window and I saw what seemed like a pulsating light just behind the clouds. It was a very overcast night and I couldn't quite understand what this light was as it was behind the clouds and stayed in the one position. I watched it for ages but it never moved, I called my mum to the window to see it too and we were both quite perplexed about what it could be. It wasn't immediately obvious to the eye as it was quite a dim light so unless you were looking up at the sky you wouldn't really notice it. Nevertheless though it was visible to see. I kept coming back to the window at different stages of the evening and it was still there right until it was time for me to go to bed. I still never to this day found out what it was and I often wonder if anyone else in the area had seen it too, especially any of the students who stayed in the hall of residence.

One night, I awoke and was aware that around the bedroom light there was a smoky white mist. I woke my partner up and we thought it was smoke, and we began to panic thinking that the house was on fire. My partner told me to get out of bed and get my little boy. He said that when I opened the bedroom door I had to get on the ground and go towards his room, as we still thought that the house and corridor would be engulfed in smoke. But when we opened the bedroom door there was no smoke to be seen anywhere else. Then we realised that something very strange had happened and the mist began to dissipate. I then remembered that this particular day was the anniversary of my mother's passing, and I think that she had just come back to pay me a visit, I think this was her 'calling card'. Other strange things seem to happen in the house as well, for example things disappearing and re-appearing in a place where you know that you have definitely already looked.

This experience happened to a friend of mine, whom I know from my art class, but requested her story stay anonymous due to its inclusion of personal details. I am transcribing it for her in my own words.

Her husband died a few years ago, and has to date paid her three 'visits' in spirit form. On the first visit, he came to her while she was asleep, got into her bed and cuddled up next to her. She was obviously very afraid at first, but accepted it as she felt confident that it was him. On the next time, it was not such a pleasant experience - again the same thing happened, but this time as well as cuddling in close, she felt him trying to merge with her own aura/spirit. This was a very unpleasant feeling for her, she tried to call for her son but found that she was partially paralysed and that the words would not seem to come out of her mouth. Eventually the feeling cleared, and everything went back to normal - but it left her feeling very uneasy about the whole experience. It later happened a third time, however with less drastic effects as for the second time. As you can imagine, she is now uneasy about the idea of future 'visits'.

This story happened when I was working as a Sales rep in East Anglia. I was driving along the road on a foggy evening, and I saw a figure on a motorbike dressed in second-world war era army costume. The rider fell off the bike and went into a roadside hedge. I stopped and ran out to see if he was ok, but could not find him anywhere and couldn't understand it. I traveled onto my hotel and told someone there the story (the hotel manager), and the manager said that this had happened a few times - he himself knew people who had experienced it. Apparently the rider was delivering important documents during the second world war, he had come off of his bike, broken his neck, and gone into the roadside hedge.

I was sleeping in my partner's bedsit flat, and woke up suddenly in the middle of the night. I was shocked to see that standing at the bottom of the bed was a dark shadowy figure of a man all dressed in black, with a long flowing cape. I looked away and looked back again and the figure had gone. I definitely was not dreaming, as I had woken up so suddenly that I was fully awake and conscious of my surroundings.

This experience happened while I was working for the Penta hotel in London. It was while I was in the staff's accommodation, I had been having a sleep after my shift. When I opened by eyes and looked to the left of me, there was a young girl standing there. She was approximately in her late teens and dressed in period type costume from the early 19th century. She looked directly at me for a few seconds, and then vanished into thin air. It was daylight in the room at the time that this happened, I was not afraid - just a bit bemused. I mentioned this to a few other people and apparently others had also had a similar experience. This building was quite an old one, and so it must have been someone who lived there quite a long time ago - just a curious spirit I suppose.
